Jewish Coalition for Literacy

Inspired by Jewish values of social justice and love of the written word, the Jewish Coalition for Literacy (JCL) fosters literacy among children in public schools by engaging volunteers from the Jewish community as reading tutors. JCL builds partnerships between the Jewish community and neighborhood schools by recruiting, training and placing volunteer reading tutors.

The JCL program is based on the understanding that literacy and education are the keys to personal success. Jewish tradition asks that we dedicate time and energy towards creating a better society … for all people.

As a member of Denver’s Jewish community you can help ensure that young students are better equipped for their future. Join Denver’s Jewish Coalition for Literacy.
