B’nai B’rith Denver is Hiring!

Position Description

 Position:         Program Administrator (part-time)

Location:        Denver, Colorado

Reports to:     President of the Board of Directors

Overview:

The Program Administrator will be a dynamic advocate for Denver B’nai B’rith and its many programs; will be proficient at administering office operations; will work well with the organization’s volunteers; and will take the initiative at identifying and completing tasks.  He/she will have a demonstrated ability to work independently.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Become knowledgeable of, and be an advocate for, B’nai B’rith programs- both locally and internationally.
  • Maintain Denver B’nai B’rith’s website and social media networks, keeping them current and well organized.
  • Oversee and coordinate all e-mail marketing campaigns using MailChimp or ConstantContact.
  • Manage B’nai B’rith office – including correspondence, emails and phone calls; bank deposits; program record keeping and reporting.
  • Develop a calendar of events (date, time, location) for all B’nai B’rith meetings, programs, and activities; schedule rooms and assist in set-up as necessary.
  • Maintain lists and databases of members and attendees; send out letters and membership notices; reconcile membership rosters with those provided by B’nai B’rith International.
  • Maintain lists of all donations received by the organization, and promptly send acknowledgements to all donors.  Send thank you notes and condolence cards on behalf of Denver B’nai B’rith.
  • Maintain membership materials, including brochures and membership applications, and assist in their design.
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings; prepare agendas and minutes.
  • Serve as editor of the Menorah newsletter, making sure it is prepared and distributed regularly.
  • Perform outreach to other Jewish community places and organizations (e.g., synagogues, JCC, BBYO, Hillel, universities, AEPi, Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce, etc.) to partner with B’nai B’rith to deliver our programs.
  • Assist Board officers with event coordination such as contacting venues, assisting with setup and cleanup, etc.
  • Work with Young Professionals to involve them in B’nai B’rith programs and activities.
  • Maintain scrapbook of B’nai B’rith articles, programs and activities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be knowledgeable of Jewish community, culture, and observance.
  • Exceptional people and networking skills.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Prior administrative experience desirable.
  • Computer proficiency is required of the following programs: MS Word, Publisher, and Excel.  Experience with QuickBooks and WordPress is preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
