MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
I want to personally welcome you to Denver B’nai B’rith – whether you are a new member or have been a member for many years; are a friend or family of a member; or are just a visitor to our organization.
B’nai B’rith is a grassroots organization dedicated to serving our Jewish community, and the broader community in which we live. For many Jews who are otherwise unaffiliated, B’nai B’rith provides an important link to maintaining Jewish identity and continuity. Through our parent organization, B’nai B’rith International (BBI), we are active in more than 50 countries, and support humanitarian and disaster relief programs throughout the world – including the recent disasters in Haiti and Chile.
We are extremely pleased to announce the collaboration of the Denver Jewish Chamber of Commerce with Denver B’nai B’rith. Members of each organization will automatically be invited to all programs, projects, and activities of both organizations.
A few of our many activities, programs and accomplishments in 2009 include:
- Literacy tutoring at local schools, including Kunsberg, Holm, and Lowry Elementary Schools (with the Jewish Coalition for Literacy).
- 17th Annual Leadville Cemetery Cleanup.
- Support of BBYO (the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization), with financial aid to attendees of leadership programs, and award of the annual Simon Quiat Scholarship.
- Jewish prisoner programs at Rosh Hashana and Passover.
- Denver Jewish Bowling League
